Getting Started with 365
Using 365 for the first time is simple. Once you have completed your enrolment (as a student) or have a username set up (as a new member of staff), you just need to log in by following the steps below:
- Visit 365.lincoln.ac.uk
- Sign in with your University email address as displayed below:
Students: 12345678@students.lincoln.ac.uk
Staff: user@lincoln.ac.uk
and your University password (set up when you enrolled or activated your account).
You will be forwarded to an area where you can access or download Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and Teams, and access your online storage.
Downloading 365 Applications to your personal device
You can download Microsoft 365 applications to up to 5 personal devices* as part of your account. Follow the steps below:
- On 365.lincoln.ac.uk, sign in and click the “Install and more” button in the top-right corner.
- Select “Install Microsoft 365 apps” to download the complete 365 suite of applications.
- Click on “Install Office”.
- You will see a download begin for the file “OfficeSetup.exe.”. Once the download has been completed, open the “OfficeSetup.exe” file from your Downloads folder and follow the steps below for your relevant operating system.
*Staff members will be able to access Microsoft 365 applications from their work (corporate) devices without having to install them first.

OneDrive Quick Start Guide
You will be provided with 1TB of personal online storage space through Microsoft OneDrive. This online storage space can be used to store, share, sync & backup your personal files.
To use OneDrive:
- Visit 365.lincoln.ac.uk and sign in (as above).
- Click on the OneDrive icon.
- Click on the New or Upload buttons to add files to your OneDrive.
Office 365 also contains a range of collaboration tools you can use to work with others, such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
