Registering Your Attendance
Please Note: It takes up to 48 hours from the time you have finished your enrolment for you to be able to register your attendance. We recommend you finish your enrolment tasks as quickly as possible and, in the meantime, ask your tutors to mark your attendance.
If it is more than 48 hrs since you completed enrolment and you cannot see the register attendance button please contact Student Administration.
- To register your attendance, log in to the UniLincoln App on a Wi-Fi-enabled device like your phone or laptop.
- On the Home Page, in the Today’s Schedule section, swipe and look for the class you are about to attend. There, you will see a timer that shows how long you have before attendance registration becomes available. You will only be able to register attendance once the lecture starts, and the Register Attendance Button becomes visible.
- Click on the Register Attendance Button once it becomes available at the start of your lecture. To log your attendance, you need to be connected to eduroam Wi-Fi.
- If you are not connected to eduroam Wi-Fi:
- The app will guide you if you are not connected. For connection issues, select the “?” button next to the “Test Connection” button for a detailed troubleshooting guide.
- You can keep on testing your connection by selecting “Test Connection” as you go through the troubleshooting guide.
You can also view the troubleshooting guide below:
- If you are not connected to eduroam Wi-Fi:
- Connect to Eduroam Wi-Fi: Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on and that your device is connected to eduroam. For assistance with connecting to eduroam, refer to https://lncn.ac/uniwifi.
- Disable Mobile Data: Mobile data connections can disrupt the network test tool. Turning off your mobile data connection can prevent any disruptions.
- Disable VPN Connection: Active VPN connections can disrupt the network test tool. To avoid this, consider temporarily deactivating your VPN service.
- Check Apple Specific Settings: If you are using an Apple device, the iCloud Private Relay may disrupt the network test tool. Make sure the iCloud Private Relay is turned off for the eduroam network by deactivating the limit IP address tracking network option. Refer to the Apple documentation for disabling this option at https://support.apple.com/en-us/102022.
- Visit the Digital Technologies Service Desk: If you have completed all the steps and still cannot connect, consider visiting the Service Desk. You can find their contact information at https://lncn.ac/dtcontact.
- If you are already connected to eduroam Wi-Fi, you will see the Register Attendance pop-up where you need to enter your access code and press the register button to register your attendance successfully.
- Once the attendance is registered successfully, you will see “Attendance Registered” on your timetable card.
The registration button will only be accessible in a 30-minute window from the start of your lecture. After that, it will display “Attendance not registered”. If you are unable to register your attendance within those 30 minutes, you will need to contact your tutor to mark your attendance.
Monitoring Your Attendance
With the UniLincoln App, you will be able to view your Overall Attendance for the year to date from the Home Page. You can also view attendance for a particular period. You can see attendance for each module and see a list of any unauthorised absences.
On the Home Page, your Overall % of Attendance will be displayed, as well as your total number of events attended, authorised absences and unauthorised absences.
By clicking on the “View More” button in the top corner of the “Overall Attendance” card, you will be able to access the in-depth analysis of your attendance.
Attendance stats are updated in real time if you have registered your attendance for your lecture using the app. If the app is not used to register attendance, it may take up to 5 working days for the attendance charts to be manually updated. The unauthorised absences table will show the events that you may have missed. If you have any queries about your attendance stats, you should contact your Student Administration team.
